While there’s still plenty of time till Sprint’s launch of commercial WiMAX services in Q2 2008, that doesn’t stop the carrier in building its WiMAX ecosystem. Lately, they’ve teamed with Google to bring WiMAX mobile Internet customers search, interactive communications and social networking tools though a new mobile portal. According to Sprint’s release, the two companies collaboration will “help spur new mobility and location-based services to consumers, businesses and government customers.”
Sounds like a plan! It’s always a plus to have such giant as Google on your side. They will certainly add value to the upcoming WiMAX network with their offering — it’s easy to imagine a bundle consisting of fast Internet access and Google services. Just price it correctly (i.e. make it affordable), and I’m sure I won’t be the only one on board. 🙂
