We’ve known for a little while now that Rogers has secured exclusivity on the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 in Canada. The X10 will run Android 1.6, and thankfully, Sony Ericsson has confirmed that the device WILL be upgradable. This will come as welcome news for Rogers customers looking to move on to a newer Android device, especially when you consider the HTC Dream/Magic debacle that took place some time ago. The X10 also packs a 4″ WVGA touchscreen, 8MP camera and speedy 1GHz processor.
At any rate, Rogers is busy cranking up the PR machine, and they’ve begun sending out email blasts to notify us that the XPERIA X10 is ‘almost’ ready for pre-order. Yeah, a pre-pre-order notice. Go figure. We also hear that the device will go for $199.99 on the standard 3-year term when available. Launch date? This isn’t confirmed yet, but a mid-April launch seems to be the vibe going around at the moment.
