It’s looking like the BlackBerry Storm 9530 has reached its end-of-life on Bell. Latest word has the device officially discontinued from the Bell lineup. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to pick up the first edition of the Storm these days anyway. The only reason I could come up with is if I wanted the device as a ‘collectors item’. You know, hang on to a minty fresh Storm, still sealed up in the box. Perhaps I’m ‘geeking out’ a little too much here, but that’s the only reason I would pick one up. Feel free to bash me with your counterpoints in the comments 😛 Sure, you could have picked up the Storm for free (when it was available) on Bell, but after the fact you still need to sign up for a 3-year contract. I wouldn’t be too eager to sign myself up to a 3-year obligation for a piece of ‘yesterday’s hardware’. Just sayin’.
The removal of the Storm 9530 can only lead us to believe the Storm2 9550 is on its way… Which points me towards my next question (for Bell or potential Bell customers): If the Storm2 9550 hits Bell, would you pick one up? Or are you still turned-off by the touchscreen device? Would you rather wait to see what the boys and girls in Waterloo have up-their-sleeves for the Storm3 and/or OS 6.0?
Sound off in the comments.
