Ultrabrief: Rumour: Apple to release 5 to 7 inch iPad in Q1 2011 for under $400

Digitimes Analyst Mingchi Kuo, based on talks with component suppliers, is predicting that Apple is going to launch an iPad in Q1 2011 that’s between 5 and 7 inches large and will retail for less than $400. It’s meant for users who don’t really want to input a lot of text. Judging from the many reviews I’ve read on the net, plus a few discussions with my American IntoMobile colleagues, the already 9.7 inch iPad is hard enough to type on, plus it’s freaking heavy.

As always when it comes to Digitimes, this rumour should be taken with a grain of salt.
