Telefónica offer customers free telepresence services due to Volcanic Ash

Telefónica is offering free use of its eight European telepresence online conference suites to government and business customers stranded during the ongoing volcanic travel crisis. The free offer will remain available until air traffic restrictions are lifted.

(For those of you that haven’t been watching the world news, there’s huge cloud of volcanic ash, which originated in Iceland, now doing a Merry Tango across Europe, and largely blocking Air Travel!)

The telepresence rooms, each with a maximum capacity of six people, are located in UK (Slough), Germany (Munich), Spain (Madrid, three at Distrito C and one in Barcelona) and Italy (Rome and Milan).

Any corporate customers (MNCs, Financial and Public Institutions) who want to benefit from this initiative needs to contact their customer care centre and they will be advised of availability and how to make reservations. The offer runs from Monday to Friday, from 09h00 to 20h00, but can apparently be extended to weekends and late evenings if demand is high.
