BlackBerry Pearl 9100

In case you missed it, yesterday at WES 2010 RIM introduced the next generation in their Pearl series…The Pearl 3G 9100. We gave you a comprehensive intro, and then went hands-on with the new bad boy.

The Pearl 3G 9100 features a 20-key QWERTY keyboard, the usual candybar form-factor, 624Mhz processor, 256MB of flash memory, Bluetooth, 802.11n WiFi, GPS, microSD expansion to 32GB, optical trackpad… and, a 3.2MP camera with zoom, auto-focus and video. At this point we have no real details on American carriers, however, Rogers and Bell in Canada have confirmed they will offer the 9100.

Regarding Bell, it looks like my buds over at MobileSyrup have already scored some details. Here’s what they found:

  • Launch date: May 13th
  • 3-Year: $129.95
  • 2-Year: $179.95
  • 1-Year: $279.97
  • 30-Day: $329.95
  • Prepaid: $329.95

So there you have it. Honestly I’m a little shocked to see the pricing so high for the 3-year term, which leads me to believe that these may not be the final numbers… Either that, or wait until June or July when pricing will no doubt drop down to a more reasonable $79.95 or $29.95 on a 3-year term for the same device.

Note: Look for the 9100 to rear its head sometime in May on AT&T and T-Mobile.
