We have a new Ovi Store success story to talk about. It involves Pizero Design which Earth theme has crossed the 1 million downloads mark within 86 days. That’s an average of 11,600 downloads per day!
In case you wonder, the lightweight theme (comes with default icons) works on both touch (S60 3rd edition) and non-touch Symbian S60 smartphones.
Again, it’s good to see Nokia’s Ovi Store growing. I’m sure their recently run campaign across UK newspapers will help them get even more people to use it.
In the meantime, we know that 75% downloads from the Ovi Store are apps, whereas the rest mostly goes to various personalization stuff such as wallpapers, themes and ringtones. I’m guessing when they say apps, these also include games.
And if you don’t know (haven’t used it so far), Ovi Store is divided in four areas: application, games, audio & video, and personalization.
Pizero Design (Michele Cerreta) is a prolific theme designer, offering both free and premium (commercial) themes.
