Recently, I’ve been tipped about the very handy app called XS2TheWorld, which “turns your phone into a multilingual holiday or business lifeline.” While more and more people are travveling nowadays, the main idea of this app is to help them find their way around in one of the major cities in the world. But this handy app is not only about points of interest — rather it’s complete mobile guide to the city, which includes popular destinations (musems, restaurants, and other POIs), as well as up to 300 phrases for each of the current seven languages supported.

At present, the application covers 11 cities in 6 countries, but our sources tell us XS2TheWorld is preparing more options. In case you’re travelling to Argentina (Buenos Aires), China (Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Xian), France (Paris), Holland (Amsterdam), Spain (Barcelona, Madrid) or Thailand (Bangkok) – make sure you grab the appropriate Java ME-based application (each city has its own dedicated app), while it’s still free.
