On the heels of the update for the Nokia E52, the Finnish company released a similar (or that’s the same) big-fixing firmware upgrade for the E55.
It’s a minor update so don’t expect any major app updates or even new apps installed after the process is completed. However, it’s a good practice to keep your smartphone(s) up to date, hence we can nothing but recommend you to “push the button.” You can do that either over-the-air (OTA) or using Nokia Software Updater when a phone is connected to your PC. We’re talking about a 620k download, meaning you won’t spend much of the mobile bandwidth if you opt to do it over-the-air. That is done, BTW, by typing *#0000# into the homescreen. If firmware v34 is not there, you’ll have to wait for your carrier to approve it first.
As always, we advise you to backup your data before starting the update. Nokia E52 does support Universal Data Preservation (UDP), but something always could go wrong, as you probably know…
