Monkeyland Industries is a new company founded by LA Times video game critic Pete Metzger. Today we talk about two of their products – iPhone/iPod Touch apps called uChoose and Captain Famoso Says, both of which promise “hilarious fun and hours of entertainment.”
uChoose plays off the popular “Choose Your Own Adventure” stories that were popular in the 1980’s. You should watch a video clip and then decide which direction to take the story. The objective of the game is to help an illustrator as he battles myriad distractions to finish his project and win the heart of his editor.
As for Captain Famoso Says, it’s a spin off of the famed Mexican wrestling character Captain Famoso and is based on the wildly popular Mexican wrestling “sport” known as Lucha Libre. You shake you iPhone/iPod Touch to watch one of 110 random videos of famed Luchador Captain Famoso as he spouts off about everything from pick-up lines to kittens and unicorns. Along the way, you’ll also meet Famoso’s beautiful assistant, Ivana the Russian mail order bride, who makes a few appearances.
And that’s about it. You can get additional details, screenshots included, from the two iTunes links below.
