As you probably know, as we all wait for the wide NFC adoption, smart companies are making mobile payments possible via premium SMS (and credit cards, but not a that large scale). One such company is txtNation, which announced that it is expanding to more Asian countries. More precisely, they are bringing their services to Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia and Vietnam.

txtNation’s customers and partners will be able to use either shared or dedicated short codes for both one-way SMS and two-way premium, mobile payments.

In terms of prospects, numbers say txtNation is onto something — combined Asian market for all types of mobile payments is expected to reach more than $300 billion globally by 2013, while mobile payment market for goods and services is expected to exceed $100 billion by 2013. In other words, Asia a great market for mobile payments!

Finally, in case you wonder – txtNation is already offering its services in China!
