YWaiter for iPhone saves restaurant goers money and time

Phoenix-based Mobile Bytes is out with a new iPhone app/service called YWaiter, designed to save restaurant goers money and time when dining out. The free application allows time-strapped diners to place take-out or dine-in orders directly from their phone, bypassing lengthy wait times and phone orders. In terms of the “saving money” part, there are YWaiter-exclusive discounts.

You can place orders from full service menus, and there’s even a tip calculator so the bill is paid ahead of time. And if you want something special, you can use notes to customize your order.

I’m not sure I completely understand the business model. At the moment, restaurants can sign up with YWaiter for free. The money is meant to come from advertising, as companies may want to reach diners in their area. I would assume that YWaiter also takes some cut out of every order, but that’s not mentioned in the press release.

Anyway, if you’re like me, hating to wait for the food – you’ll want to grab YWaiter. AppStore link is below.
