One of the biggest hassles with voicemail is that you have to actually check each one and listen to every single one, even if you don’t want to – this wastes precious wireless minutes and even more previous patience. Of course, if you have an iPhone, the Visual Voicemail feature helps mitigate this annoyance. For the rest of us, we’ll have to deal with the plain, old audible voicemail system – otherwise just referred to as “voicemail.”
Well, actually, if you’re on @LINK0@’s wireless network, you can look forward to the new SpinVox-powered Voice-to-Text voicemail service. The new partnership will give Alltel users the option to have their voicemail translated into text and delivered to the phone’s inbox. Users can quickly check who called, what they said, and call them back – all in a simple to use and fast text-based interface. Alltell has announced a Q4 2007 rollout for their new service.
Talk about visual voicemail, this will really bring voicemail into the visual realm in a way that the iPhone can’t – actually giving the user a visual log of the voicemail message. Or, you know, you could just check out @LINK1@.
