New Sports Tracker updated with S60 3.2 support

We’ve already talked about renewed Sports Tracker, which is no longer a Nokia’s project. Rather, a separate company, Sports Tracking Technologies, is behind it with all the same people who made it while working for Nokia developing the software.

The new Sports Tracker application/client is no longer a “touch thing” only, as the company unveiled a version that works on Symbian S60 3.2 devices as well.

Sports Tracker is an application that keeps track of your sporting activities such as walking, running, cycling, skiing; and displays that information on screen. It uses GPS and accelerometer to collect data, removing the need for manual inputs. Moreover, you can pair a Bluetooth heart rate monitor to your phone to record that data, too.

And it’s not just about recording the data. Sports Tracker can also analyze what it collects, so you can compare your results and (with the mentioned Bluetooth heart rate monitor) see how “hard” you’re exercising. There are graphs showing pace and heart rate over time and a OpenStreetMap-powered map, showing the route.

Once you’re done running, you can always export the file and import it to some other application. Soon, a dedicated web service will emerge, making Sports Tracker even more useful.

In the meantime, you can grab Sports Tracker for your Nokia phone from a link below.
