After the Nokia 6210s and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, another handset made by the Finnish giant is entering the ever competitive mobile phone market of South Korea. The device I’m talking about is the X6, which is arguably the single most desired Symbian S60 smartphone on the market today — actually, that’s the single most touch-enabled Symbian S60 smartphone, cause many people want the E71 or E72.
Anyway, it seems the X6 that will be available for South Koreans is the Comes With Music edition that includes unlimited music downloads for a certain period of time (12, 18 or 24 months – we’re not sure). UPDATE: One of our readers pointed out it’s the regular X6 that will be offered in South Korea, without the Comes With Music service. We’re confused… 🙂
Specs wise, the X6 comes with a 3.2-inch nHD (360×640 pixels) capacitive touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, HSPA and WiFi connectivity, 3.5mm headset jack and so on.
KT will sell the device for 595,000 KRW (about $498), which is presumably the price of an unlocked phone.
The question on my mind is whether Nokia stands any chance in the land of LG and Samsung, when we know that both companies offer quite powerful Android-powered devices. We’ll definitely have to wait and see…
