Museum of London’s augmented reality app rocks

So far we’ve seen quite a few augmented reality apps, with Layar and junaio being the most notable examples. How about something more specific? Sure, there are such apps as well – few metro station and car (parking) locators, and even that Ibiza guide. Now we have Museum of London joining the wave with its app called StreetMuseum.

What’s great about it is that it overlays four hundred years of historic images on today’s city streets. In other words, you’re walking on the street and as soon as you point your phone to some point of interest, the application shows how that place looked like at some point in history, which is an awesome feature! Of course, you can also get information on nearby historic locations if that’s what you please.

One thing is certain – this kind of an app is the way of the future. It’s simply the more convenient way to learn about some city’s history this way, don’t you agree?

StreetMuseum is a free app and you can grab it from a link below.
