Nokia released a new beta version of Nokia Messaging for IM for touch-enabled devices like the Nokia N97 and Nokia N97 mini. The application is apparently fully redesigned to make getting around easier than ever — according to the “official blog post,” you should be able to accomplish key actions with one touch (or just a few).
As you probably know, Nokia Messaging for IM offers a desktop-like IM experience, allowing users to stay in touch with their buddies across multiple communities, including Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk and Ovi.
New features included in this release are:
- Ability to change your custom status, avatar (picture) and quickly switch between conversations and communities.
- Preview new messages in the Chat homescreen widget. When signed in to multiple communities, the widget will cycle between them. You can also change your presence within the widget itself.
- See your friends’ avatars and set your own using the camera or an image from your gallery.
Finally it’s worth adding that Nokia wowed to keep working on Nokia Messaging Beta for IM to make it even better…
