Evernote is out with an updated Android client. The main thing of the new version is that the nasty java.lang.IllegalStateException error which prevented users from accessing certain notes has been fixed.
In addition, there are three other important enhancements:
- Search bar has been dramatically improved – not only can you use it do the usual keyword and image searching, it can also help filter tags, notebooks and saved searches. As you type, the search bar displays suggestions along with helpful icons that show you what the item is.
- Snapshot Notes now support the phone’s native camera capabilities – giving you a much better control over the quality of your photo notes. You can zoom, adjust brightness, focus, and do just about anything else.
- More languages – Evernote for Android now supports English, German, Spanish, French, Finnish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Swedish.
At the end of its blog post, Evernote wowed to bring the local storage facility to the Android. As you may know, it [local storage] already works on the iPhone and I assume Android smartphone users want it, too.
