Alongside the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 going live, Rogers also announced the Acer Liquid E today.It has all the fixings of a high-end smartphone: 3.5″ WVGA display, 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, 5 megapixel camera, and Android 2.1). I’m not a huge fan of the looks, but I was impressed with the custom widgets that Acer had cooked up for Mobile World Congress.
Acer is already prepping their next generation Android device, the Stream, which will soundly outclass the Liquid E when it comes out. Considering Acer’s love for Android will even be extending to tablets, I’m curious to see what they do for the platform as relatively unknown player in the smartphone space.
The Liquid E is priced at a very attractive $49.99 on a three-year plan, which can be found right over here at the Rogers online store. It’s just too bad they don’t have the Ferrari edition…
