I’m convinced that Motorola and Verizon just love to tease me. If you’re hoping to see that Android 2.1 over-the-air update today, you may have to wait a bit longer because the Boy Genius is reporting that a last minute bug is causing a delay.
I’m reaching out to Verizon Wireless for confirmation and/or a new update schedule, but this is quite disheartening if it’s true. Motorola has been saying the 2.1 update would be coming for at least a month, and things were looking good when Big Red outlined the features the firmware would bring. OTA updates were expected to start today, but I guess we’ll have to wait longer.
If you forgot, the 2.1 update will bring pinch-to-zoom to the browser, gallery and maps, as well as add voice-to-text, Yahoo Mail support and those fancy live wallpapers. You know, I’m not even dying for these features, I just want this to be over with.
