Well, a few weeks ago, it was posted in several places that the N73 had
finally been granted access to the Nokia Software Updater. However,
certain region codes weren’t available, including the one that I had,
Region 01. I read in several places that if you use Nemesis Software
Suite to change the product code of your N73, you could then use Nokia
Software Updater to update the firmware of your N73. So I gave it a go.
Worked wonderfully. Upon further reading, I also found that the new
Music Edition firmware was available if you used a certain product
code. So I absolutely gave it a shot, and it worked awesome, as well.Source: Symbian Guru
Stop. Rewind. Nokia region locks firmware? Nokia adds new features to firmware, flashes old phones, gives said phones a new case and accessories, and sells it as a "music edition" version? You should be ashamed of yourselves. This firmware should be available for everyone who has an N73, not to mention that remote control looks cool, why not sell it as an accessory? I would like one of those for my E61! Looks like it uses the standard pop port connection.
