We need a cheap, fashionable, QWERTY, feature phone

People my age love QWERTY phones, but don’t like smart phone prices.

People my age don’t care about push email, Exchange support, BlackBerry
connect, syncing, VoIP. Give them something with a keyboard, a 3.5 mm
headphone jack and slap 8 GB of flash memory into it and you’ll have
lines longer than the eyes can see.

If the people behind Nokia’s L’Amour collection got together with the team who designed the 8800 and created a gender neutral sexy S40 powered QWERTY device, it would be a smashing success.

Why not get yourself an Ocean when it comes out since you are doing work for Helio… Looks pretty slick, though no S60 any edition on that sucker.

  • PlayerKill

I agree. Although, QWERTY without S60 is kinda pointless.

  • Stefan Constantinescu

PlayerKill: Disagree completely. Tell that to the millions of teenagers who just want to text faster and are tired of T9.

I somehow doubt that a 8GB-equipped, stylish device would be sold cheaper than, for example, a E62.

The idea is good (and Nokia had such a device ages ago with the 5510) – but the details are a little too high-end for a cheap mass-market device imho.

  • Wozik

    disagree!
    why not s60?

besides, VoiP is really demanded thing (cheap voice calls)
syncing can be replaced with WORKING backup function, but a lot of people prefer editing agenda on PC, rather then on tiny mobile screen

5510 was great thing, but too big for business, too expencive and ahead of iths time :)

  • Stefan Constantinescu

With the trend of memory prices and the fact that it takes Nokia 2-3 years from concept design to retail market, I think it’s doable.

  • Omar

well…VoIP is not needed right now…but we will later when VoIP is extremely popular…

Also, 5510 was a phone for fun…this phone rocked!..

I say, we want a phone that has N70 (example for s60) features with QWERTY keyboard…or maybe something like 6233 (example for s40)…but with more RAM and processor power…

somthing 2MP, UMTS, 50MB internal memory with microSD or SDHC support, stereo speakers, FM radio, 640×320 video recording…yeah…that should do well…
we dont need 8GB of memory (for now…but we will later)..

i just need a phone that has qwerty and bluetooth, this stuff is bonus, bnut u should expect: media player functionallity, and extendable memory, atleast a 1.3 mp camera and thats it.

Why Not Go For Something Like The LGKS360,

Cheap phone with QWERTY keypad, bluetooth, 2mp camera, touchscreen, ,Micro SD Slot etc

I Actually Brought This Phone About A Month Ago As I Thought That It Was Such A Bargin and BH With You It Is One Of The Best Phones Out There, Without You Paying A Fourtune.

I Got Mine From Argos For £89.99 But Apparently You Can Get Them Cheaper Than That :P

no i have an LGKS360 and it has many problems. it freezes up alot and has alot of misfuntions. people say its a very good phone but as i've said, it has problems. i, personally, like nokia phones because they are more reliable than some of those other 'good' phones out there. i now have a nokia 6820 and i know it doesnt look good but its the best phone ive had. and ive had 14 phones.
