Nothing appears to be gearing up for a new phone launch in India, and this one could sit below the Phone 4a in the company’s lineup. The brand posted a teaser on X showing the outline of a handset alongside a pencil marked “4b”, strongly suggesting the Nothing Phone 4b is on its way. A dedicated microsite also went live on Flipkart around the same time, confirming the phone will be sold through the e-commerce platform.
As reported by Gadgets360, the teaser gives an early look at the phone’s design. It shows a single rear camera, a transparent back panel with visible screws and internal components, a flat rear surface, and rounded corners. That last detail lines it up visually with the Phone 4a series, though the single camera setup marks a clear step down from the dual and triple camera configurations on the pricier models.
Nothing hasn’t confirmed a launch date yet, but the combination of an official teaser and a live Flipkart microsite suggests the announcement isn’t far off.
The Phone 4b fits into a broader shift happening inside the Nothing ecosystem. The company’s sub-brand CMF recently confirmed it won’t launch a new phone this year, and has delayed the follow-up to the CMF Phone 2 Pro. A separate report indicated that CMF transferred some of its phone projects to Nothing, and one of those handsets is expected to arrive in India next month. Whether the Phone 4b is that exact device isn’t confirmed, but the timing lines up.
Nothing has been deliberate about its product strategy in 2026. Earlier this year, founder Carl Pei said the company won’t release a flagship phone this year. Instead, Nothing launched two mid-range phones in March:
- Nothing Phone 4a Pro, starting at Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB + 128GB version
- Nothing Phone 4a, starting at Rs. 31,999 for the 8GB + 128GB version
A Phone 4b would slot below both of those, potentially bringing Nothing’s transparent design aesthetic to a lower price point. That matters because the budget and entry-level segment is intensely competitive in India, with brands like Realme, Poco, and Motorola all fighting for the same buyers. If Nothing can bring its distinct design language to a more affordable phone, it could pull in first-time buyers who find the Phone 4a too expensive.
The single rear camera is the most notable detail from the teaser. It suggests Nothing is making real trade-offs to hit a lower price, rather than just repackaging an existing model. How the company handles software, performance, and build quality at that tier will determine whether the Phone 4b is a genuine value option or simply a cheaper-looking device riding the brand’s reputation.
More details should surface as Nothing moves closer to a formal announcement.
