Here are some interesting facts:
- 91.1 million mobile phones sold with an average selling price of 89 Euros
- 8 million N series devices and 1 million E series devices shipped during this quarter
- Operating profits decreased 7%
- 4.8 million devices shipped to North America, 1.1 million less than last quarter
- Nokia North America eliminated 19% of its work force in Q1 2007 compared to Q1 2006
- Nokia Middle East and Africa now have 133% more employees in Q1 2007 compared to Q1 2006
- Nokia Asia has 51% more employees in Q1 2007 compared to Q1 2006
We can obviously see where the growth is taking place and how Nokia is beginning to scale down their efforts in America.
I also wanted to mention this little factoid that Biskero found: Sony Ericsson shipped 21.8 mobile phones this quarter with an average selling price of 134 Euros. That is almost twice the amount of phones compared to 1Q 2006.
