Sprint’s PPC-6800 Caught In The Wild

Sprint PPC 6800 caught in the wildSprint’s variant of the HTC Titan (CDMA version of a slimmer HTC TyTn) has been peeped in the wilderness of a PPCGeeks forum. One lucky forum member got to put his grubby mitts on a prototype version of the PPC 6800 and he was kind enough to hook up some deets. Just like big brother, the PPC 6800 will bring some Windows Mobile 5.0 Professional (of course) and 400Mhz action to the table – with collapsable stylus and microSD slot. The CPU will purportedly be a Qualcomm MSM7500 and will be paired with 174MB of usable ROM and 49MB of RAM (just like its Telus cousin, the P4000). That’s a good deal of storage and memory to work with, and hopefully, we will see those specs make it into the production version. One interesting note is the use of a spring loaded sliding mechanism a la the HTC P4350 (Herald) – the HTC P4350 (Herald) benefited from a sleek and refined feel due to the slick slider, and we expect the same from the 6800.
