Good news for independent musicians selling their music via CD Baby, as they are about to get a new channel for distribution of their art. Popular independent music web retailer CD Baby partnered with mobile content marketplace voeveo.com to distribute its material globally to the rising numbers of mobile device users. Initially 50,000 tracks from CD Baby store will be offered, with more to follow in ensuing weeks.
“The worldwide uptake of single tracks and entire albums on wireless handhelds has accelerated rapidly as traditional mobile phone users increasingly adopt multi-media capable devices,” Derek Sivers of CD Baby said. “We see this trend creating the need for an efficient delivery method to ensure independent music producers and mobile consumers benefit from the best possible trading environment.” (via: earthtimes)
