MagnaChipSouth Korea-based MagnaChip Semiconductor announced the launch of its optimized Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED) solution, designed for use in the displays of high-end multimedia and/or mobile TV enabled mobile phones. The new solution supports WQVGA displays (240×432 displays), and is quite battery friendly, featuring automatic screen brightness control. Furthermore, MagnaChip’s AMOLED solution offers an RGB-separated gamma control that provides superior, stable color display, and as a result, more natural still images and video. It is expected that new displays enter the mass production till the end of this month — meaning we could see mobile phones sporting this technology being released till the end of 2007.
