Apple iPhone wil use iTunes to transfer all your old phone numbers to the iPhoneThat’s right, not only will the iPhone be activated through Apple’s iTunes music software, iTunes will be used to transfer your contacts, email, calendar, music, photos, podcasts, and video to your iPhone! We were somewhat skeptical on Apple’s requirement to use iTunes with the iPhone. But, with features like convenient, at-home activation and contact transfers, we’re all for it! The process should be simple, with iTunes walking you through the transfer procedure – “Usually [activation] can be done in less than 20 minutes, but it can take several hours depending on your carrier,” Apple said.

Once you have activated your iPhone, you are ready to start sync-ing all your existing data through iTunes. You can sync all your contacts, email, calendar (including your Outlook calendar!), music, photos, podcasts, and videos to your iPhone. You can choose to transfer all your music, photos, podcasts, and videos, or you can pick individual files – if you have a large music and video collection, it might be wise to choose individual files for transfer. Should a phone call come in during your sync process, the iPhone will halt the sync and allow you to answer the phone call. How great is that!
