Not to be outdone by LG’s recent announcement that they will be working to bring a YouTube Phone to market, Samsung has just announced their own YouTube Phone – the Samsung SGH-L760. But, whereas LG is planning to launch their YouTube-compatible device in 2008, Samsung will be delivering the SGH-L760 YouTube Phone this month – to Germany and other parts of Europe!
The new Samsung SGH-L760 YouTube Phone will rock 3G data speeds to help make quick work of all that video streaming and uploading. With the on-board 2 megapixel video camera, the Samsung YouTube Phone will give users the ability to locally record video and upload straight to YouTube, uBlog, and Buzznet. But, it doesn’t end there. The SGH-L760 comes packed with an MP3 player, Bluetooth, FM radio, web browser (of course, how else would you watch and upload those YouTube vids), RSS reader (!), and microSD card slot.
And, at 100x47x15mm in size, the Samsung YouTube Phone is fairly svelte – with a slider form-factor that reminds us of the Samsung Ultra Edition II 12.1 U700 (expect with a bit more girth). Although, it could do well with a better screen than the 176 x 200 pixel resolution TFT display.
So, let’s see here. Samsung is beating LG to the punch with their own 3G YouTube Phone and will actually do it in time for the holiday shopping season. Brilliantly done fellas, now let’s just hope that video camera can hold its own against the LG’s.
