Where you at? If you’re a Sprint customer, your friends won’t ever have to ask that question. The location-based GPS tracking system has crossed over from Sprint-owned Boost Mobile’s network, and will be powered by Loopt Technologies’ mobile tracking system. Of course, this is all assuming that your friends are all on Sprint’s network and are Loopt customers as well. The service, dubbed “Friend Finder” updates your position, via built-in GPS, every 15 minutes. To deter the stalker-prone set, the user has to authorize their friends to track them.
“Friend Finder” is set to launch on 25 handsets (with built-in GPS, of course) and will run $2.99 per month.
Where you at? Just check your “Friend Finder.” Now that’s pretty cool. GSM networks, take note.
