HTC’s internal handset codenames are so widely used and referenced that they might as well be the actual handset model name. The HTC Cavalier has been referred to time and time again as the successor to the HTC Excalibur (the T-mobile Dash). So much so that it’s almost unnecessary to rename the unit for retail channels. Alas, HTC loves to rename their handsets with cryptic numeric codes, and the Cavlier is no exception. HTC’s Cavalier will hence forth be known as the HTC S630. (Yea, we know it’s already been renamed as the Dopod C730, but that’s an ODM rebranding – the HTC S630 will be marketed under the HTC brand)
The 3G (HSDPA) and 400Mhz CPU packin’ Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard device hauls proverbial ass compared to the Excalibur. The quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) radio and WiFi connectivity help make this WM6 Standard device one of the slickest in the US market. And, Smartphone Thoughts has the goods to prove it.
For about $565 USD, you too can experience the blazing speed of the HTC S630!
