1700 MHz of pure UMTS goodness will be unleashed with the launch of the Samsung T639 on September 10th. The device is boring and does absolutely nothing impressive, it has a 1 megapixel camera. This announcement however signifies that T-Mobile is finally entering the 3G game and AT&T is no longer the only GSM provider in the states offering mobile high speed access.  We wish they could have decided to go with 2100 MHz and let American’s enjoy what Europe and Asia have been playing with for nearly half a decade, but that would be asking for too much.
