Fring now works on Sony Ericsson P1i
Posted by Dusan on Thursday, August 16th, 2007 at 2:44 am under Sony Ericsson, Applications, Symbian

Actually, I’m not quite sure why Fring announced that their VoIP application works with the recently released Sony Ericsson P1i — I thought when they released Fring for the UIQ 3 platform that P1i is also included. Guess, Sony Ericsson additionally tweaked P1i to make it work much better than the P990i.
Anyway, in case you miss a VoIP client on your brand new WiFi-enabled Sony Ericsson smartphone, look no further. Fring will not only provide you with Fring-to-Fring communication, but will also make all your Skype, ICQ, MSN, Google Talk and Twitter contacts available through the familiar interface…

Works for mine, both over my provider data connection and over Wifi.
I installed fring by browsing to their website on my phone and chose to download/install. Maybe update the firmware of your phone if it doesnt work at first.
I also have a nokia N91 (actually a chinese N91 which seems to lack WCDMA and wifi, d***ed nokia for not just giving it a clearly different model number such as P1i and P1c) but i haven’t got it to work on that one, as goes for many other apps.
