In General, Technologies
This isn’t the first time we’re writing about Domino’s Pizza going mobile. Earlier, we wrote about how they’ve enabled pizza ordering by SMS, and now they’re expanding their service with “optimized for mobile” website using which people can order pizza from their mobile phones.
At the moment of this writing, nearly 2,500 of Domino’s 5,128 U.S. stores can pick-up the order from the new mobile site - mobile.dominos.com. According to their release, the process should be as seamless as possible, and all that it’s required is that a user has a web-enabled cellphone.
Personally, I would use Domino’s new service when travelling back home. Otherwise, I’ll use my desktop or a laptop computer to make an order…

In Announcements, Technologies
Today Adobe announced the availability of the “so much needed” Flash Lite 3 to bring Flash video (FLV) support to the mobile devices. Initially, two of the Adobe’s large partners, Nokia (NYSE: NOK) and NTT DoCoMo (NYSE: DCM), committed to release devices with the support for the new technology in the not-that-distant future, and I guess other players (both handset makers and carriers) will follow them promptly. To put it in other words — soon we’ll be able to enjoy YouTube on our mobile devices without any video conversion, special apps or third party services. Sounds compelling if you ask me. Now, it’s all about waiting for the first devices powerful enough to handle the flash video. Can’t wait…

In Devices, Technologies
It’s kinda amazing how Chinese handset makers are implementing some of the coolest technologies (@LINK0@) before major brands in this business. Now we have them releasing the phone with haptic touchscreen feedback, which they call “special tough feeling.”

The device has some very impressive specs that include 3.2″ QVGA 1.6 million color screen, 3D sound support, GB and NES emulator, dedicated keys for gaming, and the standard microSD memory slot. As for the drawbacks, except the questionable built quality, this device has the “so not enough” VGA camera. Finally the size – it measures 113×59x15 mm and weighs 120 grams.
Now, it’s about time to see Nokia (NYSE: NOK) — which BTW @LINK1@ — and other brand phone makers releasing their haptic feedback enabled devices. Don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to try them out.
Two more photos after the jump.

In Asus, Devices, Rumors, Windows Mobile
In July we wrote that Asus is preparing the baddest Windows Mobile smartphone ever – P750. In the same article, we’ve mentioned the it will most likely be launched in October.

Now, we have a new bit of information suggesting Asus will be rolling out the P750 in Singapore and other Asian countries starting from December. What about Europe? North America? Well, we’ve know information about that. And, to make things even worse, the upcoming smartphone will have less RAM (64 MB) than we previously thought (128 MB). Not exactly THE news to start a week…

In Announcements, Devices, LG, Three

3 Italia has launched a new addition to its X-Series line of devices – LG U960. The 3G (HSDPA) and DVB-H enabled device packs tons of features such as 2.2″ QVGA screen, 2 MP camera with 2x digital zoom for taking photos, front-facing VGA camera for video calls, stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) support, and the standard microSD memory slot. As for the Internet services which play an important role in the X-Series offering, 3 is bundling LG’s multimedia phone with all the popular web-based email solutions like Hotmail, Gmail, and Yahoo! Mail; as well as support for Windows Live Messenger, Skype (iSkoot?), E-bay auctions, Yahoo! One Search, and Flickr. In addition, X-Series subscribers can access various mobile TV channels like RAI 1 and 2, Sky (Sport, Cinema Tg24 and Vivo), 3’s own channels like La 3 Live, La 3 Sport, Boing and major sports events like Series A and B, UEFA and Champions League soccer matches, Volleyball and Basketball games, as well as adult entertainment through Penthouse and Playboy channels.
Sounds quite compelling. I especially like the U960’s rotating screen, although we’ve already seen it on some LG’s phone in Verizon (NYSE: VZ)’s VCAST offering.

In Devices, NSeries, Nokia, iPhone

Your iPhone is locked again? Maybe you’re considering some other device? Nokia (NYSE: NOK) perhaps? They certainly want you in their tribe… The ad above clearly targets pissed iPhone users who, after the recent update, ended up with closed devices. And while we all wait for the next hack to come out and liberate the iPhone once again, you may want to try some of the Nokia NSeries devices? Or not…

In Devices, Orange, Windows Mobile

France Telecom owned Orange is prepping to boost its business-centric offering with yet another Windows Mobile 6 Standard edition based and full QWERTY keyboard equipped smartphone – SPV E610. The new device is actually called Amoi 6711, and is everything but a hot news, hence we’ve already seen it passing the FCC filings and heading over to AT&T as SMT5700. However, it’s interesting that Orange haven’t picked up some 3G-enabled version of the Amoi 6711. After all, most of their networks in the major metro areas — if not all of them — are 3G enabled. Guess, iPhone kinda pushed us back to EDGE. Or that’s just pretty much enough speed for push-email and syncing services, business users are requiring. And let’s not forget the 2 MP camera that is kinda “good enough” for the fellow businesses. We’re not sure about the release date nor pricing, but I guess existing Orange subscribers with solid track record will get this business baby for next to nothing.

In Announcements, Devices, Sprint, Verizon

In case you’ve been looking for an EV-DO modem to hook-up with your laptop, this one might be for you. Two CDMA carriers, Sprint (NYSE: S) and Verizon (NYSE: VZ), are adding Novatel’s USB727 modem to their offering, thus enabling customers to access their data services while on the go. The Novatel USB727 supersedes the earlier USB720 model and is little shorter and narrower than its older brother. In addition, this EV-DO Rev. A USB modem comes with a twist in form of the microSD slot. What this means is that you will be able to spice it up with up to 4GB memory card and use it both as a modem and as a USB flash drive. Kinda strange, yet somehow I find it useful to carry a single USB add-on rather than two separate ones.
If you’re on Verizon, grab the USB720 right away for $100 after rebate on a two-year contract, while Sprint users will have to wait for few more weeks and get it for $80 with a contract.
