Anyone with an uncrippled phone knows how handy Bluetooth is, but the experiance isn’t really that intuitive. “What is your Bluetooth ID?” and “The passcode is 1234,” shouldn’t have to be how we talk about technology. The next version of Bluetooth that incorporate NFC (near field communication) will make it as easy as touching two devices to transmit files, but Sony Ericsson is trying something even more interesting.

Imagine your friend is standing right in front of you. He touches a file with his finger and flicks it in your directions. Your device then asks you if you accept the file and boom it appears on your handset. Sounds like something out of Star Trek, but actually it is a Swedish-Japanese innovation.

This is a very nice innovation from the Sony Ericsson guys. I blogged about it sometime back. The Drag and Drop feature will really make the life easy for people who make extensive use of Bluetooth to transfer files between two phones or to other devices. With all the big mobile companies coming up with intuitive touch screen phones, I think this innovation from Sony Ericsson will help the company in standing apart.

Cool idea but I hope that rather than making it an exclusive feature they sell it to other companies to use. It’d rarely get used if it only worked on SE touch-screen phones.

Looks cool..We can call it Touchscreen File Transfer :D
