Jason Chen from Gizmodo sat down with someone from Microsoft to talk about the future of Windows Mobile and why in its current state the mobile OS is a steaming pile of you know what. The Redmond based company admits that placed an abundant emphasis on the business and enterprise side of the platform, but completely forgot about the consumer. Times are changing however and the focus towards improving user experience is now the primary goal of the company. From a retooled internet explorer browser, to improved messaging and contact handling, there are plenty of details to check out here. I want to like Windows Mobile, it has the potential to be a fantastic operating system due to the tight Windows and soon to be tight Live integration thanks to the brilliant Ray Ozzie, but they are not there … yet.

Windows Mobile is easy to use and the reason people have problems with it is because they don’t take the time to learn how to use it.

that can be said for just about any operating system.

I haven’t used Windows Mobile for a few version but it was a piece of shit even then. I can’t believe it took so long for the idea of a fingers based touch screen to come about, I thought of it after a few minutes of XDA2 usage.

WM is too much hassle, you don’t want a desktop experience when you’re walking down the street.
