Bank of America rolls out iPhone specific website - BofAWhat comes to mind when you think of any banking institution? We’d be willing to wager that the words “cutting edge” and “innovative” don’t exactly come to the forefront of your cerebrum.

Well, it looks like one of the nation’s largest banks, Bank of America, has gone and jumped into the “hip” end of the innovation-pool. BofA has rolled out an iPhone specific website to complement their recently-launched mobile banking platform. We’re not BofA customers, so we don’t have any first-hand knowledge of the new iPhone interface, but iPhone Central praises the new website for its iPhone integration (like getting to use the large numeric keypad on the iPhone to input a ZIP code, rather that the keyboard-based number keys).

It’s nice to see a stodgy institution like Bank of America getting with the times and actually rolling out a service that helps the customer, rather than just taking their money. Of course, the iPhone-interface makes it easier to give BofA your money, too.

If you’re a BofA customer with an iPhone, kindly hit up their new iPhone-specific website and let us know how you like it.

All these iPhone-specific websites worked just fine on normal HTML browsers before the iPhone came out. It’s convenient for iPhone users, but I imagine it’s more of a pain in the ass for the ones who have to put together a separate website for just one device.

works great! Very few key strokes to pay a bill. I’m going to Europe this spring for a while and this will make it a lot easier to pay bills and check expenses while I’m gone
