WorldMate

Here’s one for frequent fliers. WorldMate Live has been updated to enable travel providers to update their client’s itineraries directly on their devices, over-the-air. This keeps travelers’ itineraries in sync with bookings made by agents, even while they are on the move. The service upgrade also expands the list of supported travel providers to over 100 of the top industry players, including Amadeus, American Express, BCD, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, and most major airlines, hotel chains and car rental agencies.

Additional improvements to the service include the ability of the traveler to change the itinerary on the device, adding or updating meetings, flights, hotels and more. The service now enables the traveler to lookup addresses of new meetings, making sure they are correct and viewing them on a map. In addition, the WorldMate Live Outlook add-in has been upgraded to support Microsoft Outlook 2007.

As always, WorldMate Live remains a “freemium” service, with most components and services provided to end users for free. Premium services — including flight alerts, flight status and schedules, travel directory and customer support — are available via subscription at $9.95 per month or $99.95 per year.
