Labyrinth ported to Maemo

Those of you that craved to organize your thoughts with your Nokia Internet Tablet while on the go, here’s a reason to rejoice. A software engineer from Ukraine Eugene Antimirov ported Labyrinth to the Maemo platform allowing us to mind-map wherever we are. Sure, you could rely on some of the web-based solutions like MindMeister, but a native application is better in this case. You may not have an Internet connection everywhere and even if you do, the CPU inside can’t handle the complex JavaScript or Flash code of the web-based mind-mapping tools fast enough. At least I couldn’t rely on the web-based tools because of the speed.

The bad thing about Maemo port of Labyrinth, though, is that it’s still in alpha, meaning some of us may opt to wait a little longer until the application hits version 1.0 and is hence stable enough for heavy use. Or we could just try it out and if it works, we’ll go with it. ;)
