RIM BlackBerry Javelin spotted hanging out amongst friends

RIM’s BlackBerry Bold 9000 has been getting some serious attention as the first truly sleek BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) handset to be born of Waterloo’s most famous handset manufacturer. And, so it would make sense that RIM cash in on the media-darling that is the BlackBerry Bold 9000 with EDGE and EVDO Rev. A flavors. The former is known as the BlackBerry Javelin and it’s basically a slightly crippled version of the BlackBerry Bold.
The BlackBerry Javelin has been spotted hanging out with its RIM-made friends (it’s the second from the right), and it’s looking mighty good.

As I mentioned previously, the BlackBerry Javelin will feature the same 480×360 display, large QWERTY keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera, BES 5.0 support quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM, GPS, BlackBerry OS 4.6, WiFi, and an ArgonV processor, as its speedier 3G-brother. Unfortunately, the BlackBerry Javelin will be limited to 2.5G EDGE data speeds.
So, for anyone that’s still going to be in the market for an EDGE-capable BlackBerry Javelin with all the good looks of the BlackBerry Bold and a more affordable price tag in mid-2009, RIM’s got your back. Don’t worry, you don’t have to tell anyone that you’re still using EDGE in 2009.
