Opera 9.5 – always good to use a browser that is faster, more stable and supports more standards than the other browsers available in the OS or for download. Waiting to get the free license.

  • dcsk8

Will it work for sidekick lx?

  • roberth

I usually use my web browser when im away from my pc at home.I like to keep up to date with my favourite sites, mobile news etc. while on the go

  • PineRoot

I use my phone for everything, surf the web (facebook, blogs, news sites, etc.), emails, gps directions, taking random pics of random crap, harassing my friends in the middle of the night with annoying nonstop texting, calendar/appointment reminders, as my alarm, and some games. That’s most of what I can think of right off the bat.
The new features of Opera will help me be more happy because it is faster then than the WinMo IE (and I don’t have to open Java like the Mini version of Opera), it lets me run Opera Widgets, and it’s supposedly hell-of-fast.

  • Robert Gale

I use my phones so much I wonder how I’d cope without them! Been waiting for 9.5 for a long time and I’m hoping that it will be a great replacement for the S60 browser.

  • felix the cat

1)how do you use your mobile phone? I use my phone for making and receiving calls of course. texting is a big part also since i have full qwerty keyboard. I play games such as the awesome bubble breaker & I’m addicted to no limit texas hold’em. I write songs so I use the voice notes to sing the ideas I have for melodies so I don’t forget them. I also use my phone for browsing the internet

    2) how you think Opera Mobile 9.5′s new features will help you be more productive, happy, social?
well the new opera mobile 9.5 will make me happy because unfortunately i don’t have internet at home so when I am home I use my phone to browse the internet. With 9.5 I know it will make it easier to access my favorite sites. it will definitely help me socially because i use frequently access the social networking sites such as myspace & facebook wuite frequently and the current browser i am using times out and says no more memory available all the time. doesnt load pictures very will also. yep I need a more effecient browser for my pda phone

  • Mateuf

Using opera mini on my e61. Mostly for rss and weather forcasts. Syncing bookmarks with desktop is nice. Sometimes have to fall back to built in browser for tricky sites. 9.5 bring it on (as the wiseman says)

In addition to the obvious, I use my smartphone for email, as a mini-computer carrying the documents and spreadsheets that I need to reference, and as a navigational guide. Opera 9.5 will better enable me to access work and other websites. Explorer $#@ks!

  • Raidium

Lets see here! I own a Palm Centro smartphone and I would say my main use is definitly internet! I have accounts on myspace, deviant art, yahoo, google, HERE, etc. that I check daily on my phone. The only problem is that I have tried and downloaded Opera Mini before on my phone and I get this error that sayes, “Please ensure that IBM’s WebSphere Micro Environment Java VM is installed” No idea what that means so unfortunately I haven’t been able to use and version of the app. I would love to have it because all the reading I’ve done on it suggests that it had a full html browser. I would love to have a feature like that so I can view the web in a more crisp sort of way. If by any chance I do win this, can you please let me know how to fix this error?

I usually use Opera Mini on my mobile device to access my Yahoo and Windows Live account. I do most of my blogging on my cellphone. Sometimes I even do some internet calling using some of the popular mobile internet calling softwares. I constantly use the alarm feature on my phone as well as a lot of text messaging. Thanks to the QWERTY keyboard on my phone, it makes typing, texting, entering web addresses, and blogging a breeze.

  • norrafi

How I use my mobile recently? I’ll put in list
    - Frequently making voice calls, SMSes & email (outlook)
    - Video calls to family members
    - Browsing internet (normally Google Reader, as a home page), before sleeping I dial-up internet to download torrent (movie & magazine)
    - Using Sport tracker, to measure how much petrol/km I use everyday (FYI, Petrol price just increase in my country)

    I’m using E90 with 3G Unlimited data. huhuhu…

  • Aristotle Ballesteros

I use my HTC Mogul everyday, i check, emails, news, scores and sometimes make purchases on woot. I usually will use opera mini up until the point where it will freeze and then I have to restart my phone, I rarely use IE mobile since its not very web site friendly. I’m been waiting for the day for a new mobile browser to come out and make my mobile experience a lot better. I know Opera has a winner in their hands. Now, if they could only do something about the gas prices…

    Thanks for reading.

  • bustafone

Opera Software is just awesome! The greatest thing since slice bread.

  • Nesko

    Ah, finally 9.5.
Well, after IE gives me so many frustrations I pray to get one Opera 9.5.
Being a heavy Pocket PC and Internet user I strongly believe that the new version of Opera ccertainly will bring speedy and convenient web browsing on my smart phone.
Finally (I hope), I can do some blogging since IE prevented me for doing that.
In addition, the features like Grab and Scroll, Flash support, and Web search in address bar will ease my everyday life.

  • Sudhi

I use my smartphone more than my PC, Opera is a must have for a user like me.
Its features and speed blow me away…

  • Rod

I use my mobile for the usual, you know, browsing, email, and learning new things on the toilet…

    Amazing!

When and where was this announced?

  • Adrian Boiciuc

  • TheEminent1

Surfing for movie times on my phone will be a lot more fun if I had Opera Mobile 9.5, I can do a bit more multitasking!

  • Whobee

Opera has been the greatest browser for as long as I’ve been using my Nokia. Love the previous versions, will love the new one.
Can’t imagine my day without my RSS FEEDS + coffee in the morning.

  • vincent montgomery

I,ve just downloaded the beta. It is the best browser to date and it’s in beta form! I have to have it, there’s no doubt about it! It’s very comforting to know that Winmo devices will be on par with that other phone within the next year. No need to jump platform just yet if you’re patient. Good things come to those who wait. When Multi-touch Winmo 7 and Opera Mobile 9.5 activate their wonder twin powers that other phone will become the other phone.

  • Jimbo

I’d love to get my hands on Opera Mobile 9.5!

I’m a hot air balloon pilot and use my WM phone to get accurate weather information when out in the field. I need a great browser that allows me to zoom into radar images, or read detailed text weather reports.

As the data available to pilots had gotten better, the demands on the mobile browser increase. I’m excited to use OM 9.5 and make my job easier and safer!

  • Teemu

    Opera simply kicks ***!

  • Brad

I read my RSS feeds with in my mobile browser, and the built in browser sucks! Opera mobile would help me follow intomobile oh so much better!

  • TouchyFeely

I browse using my HTC Touch. IE is just too clunky for me. Opera Mini kept crashing, but Opera Mobile for the past week seems rock solid. I love it!

  • Andrew

i use opera mini 4 on my Helio Ocean…will this work? if not im gettin a new phone anyway

  • Maskar

Since i got my N95 8GB i began depending on it to check most of my online interests instead of using my notebook.
Opera mobile browser would sure enhance my mobile online experience a lot.

  • Eric

How do I use my E51. Mostly google maps and the web browser but I’m also beta testing some push mail solutions. I used to run palringo and other IM/voip apps. Truphone was great for a while. I used 8.65 mobile on my N80 until the display failed. I used to use the divx player a lot on my N80. I’ve used sportstracker recently. I use internet radio and ssh when I really need it. I use oggplay and podcasting every day with A2DP headphones. I’ve tested flixwagon, kyte and qik but I’m not a journalist so I dont really see the point.

I have a screenshot archive on vox.

So I’m still a bit confused about Opera’s laggy symbian support.

  • GeoGeo

I’m addicted to this blog. Please help me read more often ;)

  • Cowboy

I want borwsing YouTube videos. Opera mini and IE sucks…

  • Ariel

I browse a lot from my E65, so Opera Mobile would be perfect for me. Mainly I use Google Reader (iPhone version), but I also browse news web sites. I do all my calendar and agenda management on my phone too. Oh, that and play some Virtual Pool :)

  • dj_Cristi

just loving it ! installed today on my hp ipaq 4700
    here is my impresion:
    wm6.1 ; touch feedback
: good, memory usage : kinda high , open speed : slow ; page load : quick ; flashlite support : disabled :|

overall : could be better , i hope the final version will rock

i use it on my pda for checking stocks, mail etc

  • BeQuietAndDrive

Since I own a HTC phone, I should be able to do almost anything with it. I haven’t tried them all, but it seems it can orbit around Earth, scare annoying dogs or make my girlfriend really, really happy (no more details there buddy!).

But I don’t use any of above mentioned features. I am busy all the time, browing the web. With a slow-ass browser. Now, if I would win the new Opera browser, I could browse the web faster, so I’ll be done browsing much quicker, so I will then actually have the time to try the beam-me-up-scotty feature, use the integrated beermaker-thingy or make my grilfriend really, really happy!

IntoMobile, please help me out here! :)

  • scott

Anxious to try this on my XV6700. Pocket IE is garbage. It’s nice to see Opera giving Safari/iPhone a run for its money.

  • dEe eNd

I just downloaded Opera. This is what i have been waiting for. I got my Girl an iPhone last year and if there is anything great about the iPhone is the Safari Browser. Finally I can browse multiple websites on my WM6 phone! I mainly use my phone to browser the net and find new upcoming gadgets will at work. Texting and Email.

  • dennis leigh

I have used OPERA before on my Nokia N80 and it was better browser than the Original Nokia’s one, Particularly I did not have any warnings of the type “short memory”. Opera is faster and more reliable.
    Dennis Leigh

  • Mike

I’m on the internet all the time on my phone and from what I’ve seen, opera 9.5 is definitely better then the crap browser on my voyager. If I win, I will be online much longer.

  • James Hoard

I’ve yet to see a good phone browser outside of Opera

  • Austin R

I use my phone to surf the web at work and on the go, sometimes I even use it at home instead of my computer. I spend more time texting and surfing than I actually do talking on my phone. I use google maps and Windows live for directions and gps. I don’t go anywhere without my phone.
Opera 9.5 will help me because I can’t use IE to access my bank account and I would like to be able to access my my account while I am not at home. I would also like to be able to browse some of my favorite sites without getting the mobile version. You can’t really access yahoo sports on Mobile IE.

  • Will Park

9.5 final may or may not be free. If it isn’t, your 8.65 license will work with 9.5 gold.

  • darshan

I frequently use my web browser in my n95 for checking balances, scores, wiki…but since i dropped this phone too many times…it crashes like a car without brakes….anyway back to the point, it wont load up my american express website…so i really am in a dire need of operaaaa

  • BigYellow

I want to get Opera because it will make me a bigger success socially, because i never talk to people in person, only on my phone, because that’s how the cool kids do it.

also i can read about world of warcraft at work while i’m supposed to be working and no one will ever catch me

  • Shez Patel

I want one .. Please i never win anything :(

  • Hypocrite

I use Opera mobile for browsing for news, weather and entertainment and of course reading blogs.

  • Macboi

I don’t use Opera Mobile because the Safari browser on my iPhone is much better than this p.o.s.

  • E Lee

Need to browse. I have opermini its great, but my son wants to browse more flash enabled kid sites while on the go. Give us a freebie!!. we will love it!!

I use my phone for calendar, contact, note, task, and email syncing. I honestly believe that Opera Mobile will make me happy, mainly due to my experience using it on my Archos, it’s amazing on it and wish to try it out on my mobile. I’ve tried the mini, and it’s ok, but I want to dive into the mobile version.

  • vincent montgomery

I use my mobile device (ATT Tilt) for just about anything I can and at any chance I get. I use it to filter my calls and stay connected with friends, family, and coworkers. If you don’t have my cell number or email you’ll won’t get a hold of me because I never answer my home phone. My home phone is a solicitation land mine as it is a cheap, low end model so it has no caller id. I also use my device for messaging; texting, email, and the almighty, very inappropriate yet absolutely hilarious MMS. I’m sure everyone has received one or two of these. The organizational apps are something that I take use daily. I use the calendar to remember appointments, the alarm clock wakes me up on time, and the calculator helps me with finances. I also use my mobile fo multmedia play back. My device has a 2GB card in it which holds my music, photos, and videos. My phone is also my camera though I don’t use it often I do use it in certain situations. I use it mainly for fun(ny) times with family and friends. I used it in a more serious sitaution when I got rear ended a few months ago. Web browsing is mainly what use my Tilt for. Surfin’ the net makes up about 60% of my mobile use pie chart. Last, but not least I use it for LBS. Windows live search make practically makes 411 obsolete. On top of that my devices gps takes me to the door step of anything I’am looking for. My mobile device is my everything device. Ipod $150, digital camera $200, PDA $300, PND $350, all of these in one device priceless. A license for Opera 9.5 would certainly make my mobile day, especially if it were free.

  • Elaine

I am old and rickety, and Opera Mobile 9.5 is so relaxing and wonderful to use everyday that it makes me forget I’m old and rickety.

  • aussiedog

I use my Dash for surfing the web, e-mail, games and Opera kicks a** over PIE. I’m using Opera mini now. Intomobile rocks, but it would supremely rock if I won this!

  • Eclecticgirl

I use my phone to surf the web (using it right now to post this message), text and play games. That’s pretty much it. Every blue moon I may use it as a phone.
Hmm, I don’t really know what opera mobile is and I probably don’t need it but I want it soo badly! Winning it would make my life better as I’d finally be able to say that I won something before :-) lolz

  • PineRoot

It’s great to have gotten the lic. for Opera Mobile. So far it’s been great,I dl’ed the beta,it is awsome. I love the tabs, I’m still messing around with it but so far it’s good. Only one downside…it’s memory intensive…can’t wait for the official release of 9.5
Thanks Will and the whole Into Mobile team.

  • Ravindra

    I’d like to have one

  • Cheung Yuen Wong

What they’ve been promoting heavily in Opera 9.5 for mobile is the widgets.

I do use the Nokia’s standalone widsets, but it would be interesting and but mostly practical to have that integrated inside the webbrowser itself.

The support for uploading pictures and files to other sites is also welcomed as this will give one access from one application which is great. Much less hassle and getting more things done.

I just hope they haven’t moved too far away from their core functionality such as they webbrowsing. I’ve used Opera 8.65 before, but thought it was really bad when it came to caching, not to talk about loading pages.
In fact I got better loading speed by using the S60 browser, which was a great disappointment for me.
(I even found Opera Mini doing the job better).

Before the S60 3rd edition I also used Opera Mobile but I found that the NetFront browser was superior here also.

I do feel that maybe I’m a bit stingy here, but this is only based on my own previous experiences.

That being said I really hope they’ve fixed these issues in Opera Mobile 9.5
That way they can really prove me wrong.

May I have one pls? :)

  • Shane

I use my Sprint Touch as my primary internet connection and thus, 99% of my time surfing the web is directly through my phone. With Opera 9.5 mobile, we just may finally be seeing a “real” web browser for mobiles and so winning would help me out tremendously as at this point anything is better than PIE! I’ve tried the 9.5 beta and only disappointment is the lack of “Fit to Screen” mode that Opera used to do so well. Here’s to hope!

  • Maskar

Opera Mobile Browser is really Great, i wish to win :)

  • cellie

i use Opera ALL the time. PIE is just…lacking. please don’t condemn me to using PIE. let me become one with the multifunctionality of Opera 95.

  • JD

I work in a mortuary, and I use my Sprint Mogul for everything. I have several programs and services that I use to help me with my work. I even use to phone to go online and show my families pictures of caskets. If I need to contact another mortuary out of state, I go online to search for one. I think using Opera 9 would be extremely helpful in many ways.

  • vincent

I would do anything for Opera 9.5. If I have to hold up a sign on a street corner I will: Will comment for Opera 9.5.

  • Matt D

I use my BJ II for the internet so much, I got warned by AT&T that i went over the 5 gb cap!! I’m always on the internet either using it to get the bus routes, look up info on the BJ III, or even watching YouTube videos and i’m too poor for that new fangled fancy iPhone 3g or G3 or watcha ma call it

  • Zak

I’m in, but will it work w/ S60?

    I use my G810 for sex :)

Hey Intomobile, I think I left my opera 9.5 license at your house. If you find it could you please email me to let me know. Thanks. :)

I’d love to get a copy of Opera Mini 9.5
I consider myself addicted to the browser, I’m constantly logging into Facebook and utilizing precious bathroom time to catch up on my RSS Feeds. This could make the experience all that much more enjoyable ;)

Opera is excellent on my destop; can’t wait to use it on my cell…

  • Simon

I guess I need a Winmo device soon, really sick of my small screen using OperaMini, or are there any other better suggestion to use Opera Mobile 9.5 besides Winmo? Not sure how Symbian platform performs well with it?

  • Nikola

    HI,

I would line to have Opera Mobile.

    Regards, Nikola.

  • vincent

I have been using the beta since it was first released. The beta is a little rough around the edges, but it still beats the pants off any browser out there on the winmo platform. Especially since so few of us have been able to experience the all, but nonexistent Skyfire beta. I have read several comments complaining about 9.5. MSMOBILES.com posted an article about the browser being unusable. Other individuals are saying that 9.5 is a ram hog. Others say Netfront and mini 4.1 are better. One person said to wait for Microsot’s release of PIE based on the IE6 rendering engine. The only thing I would like to say to these comments is Opera 9.5 is a beta people! It is supposed to be slow, buggy, and in some if not most cases a pain to use. On top of that it hasn’t even been out for 7 days. The final subject I would like to address is the horrific resource demands of 9.5. First, if you’re running this browser on a 64MB equipped device I feel your pain. Second, there are a couple of things you can do to control the memory Dracula that 9.5 truly is. you can delete your cache regularly. An alternative to such a tedious task is to move the cache to your storage card. WMEXPERTS.com has posted how to instructions on their site. I decided to go with the latter method and must say I am quite pleased. Opera 9.5 needs about 8-10MB just to run properly. Combine that with its cache being stored to a device and you’re en route to RAM anorexia. I’m sure Opera will address any issues and deliver a well polished, good looking product like always, so don’t fret or panic yet, just be patient. Oh and Intomobile, I am losing my patience over my 9.5 license. Where is it? Just kiddin’! :)

I use my mobile phone to do just about everything I that I can do from my home computer, check emails, surf the web, check movie times, and paying bills. I even installed mmetrics to monitor my internet usage, hey might as well make get paid to use the net on my phone. I think opera 9.5 would be a great addition to my phone that help me get full pages at a faster rate, so that I can read your site even easier, and with all those widgets who knows what I’ll find.

    *&*&*&*&*&*&*&*
In addition to working full time, I am also a full time student. I think that Opera 9.5 would help me by making it easier to go online to my classes and actually be able to view the sites the way they are supposed to be seen. Also the convenience of being able to do this without having to sit at a computer to check my assignments.

I work in a at&t store and I love to surf the web on my phone. I know opera mobile will make that experiance much more enjoyable and also by showing it to customers will help me sell more high end pda phones. I use a blackberry and opera blows away what blackberry calls a web broiser. This would just make my phone tons better.

I use my phone’s browser to access my favorite websites while not at home. Being that I take public transportation quite often, it makes life a lot easier and passes the time to read the latest tech news and post on a forum or two.

Ok, i use my phone for EVERYTHING!
I get homework assignments, mail from work, slingbox from my T.V., looking up food recipes, downloading music, watching youtube videos, getting directions because I’M ALWAYYS LOST! Also, checking my myspace and facebook because you always gotta stay in contact with your friends! Going on google to find out what stuff means because i’m usually confuzled and finding the right bus route to get home. I love the news from CNN because i’m always out and about so i never watch t.v. or go on the computer, which makes the weather channel great on my phone becuase i can find out which beach to head to.
Opera 9.5 would be such a help in my busy life because I never have time to use a computer other than for homework and with the Faster Browsing, easier navigation and user interface i can be ziping around the internet insted of waiting for the page to load in Windows Explorer, which takes triple the time!
Opera 9.5 can help me in every aspect of life, whether it be stay in touch with friends and family to knowing that i might pass math to knowing if its going to rain while i take bus 148 to the metro station to get to my sisters in Hollywood. Opera would make my life so much less complicated.

Please can i have the opera 9.5??? I need a better internet browser than Internet Explorer. It doesn’t even work with the real version of Myspace! I need something that can handle loading mutilpple web pages! I use my phone for everything!!! I use the internet to check up to see if intomobile has put the winners up, look up food recipes on foodnetwork, go on myspace to change my everchanging status, go on google to check my mail and google things i see on the way to many different places (dont worry, im on the bus not driving) and i use my phone to find bus routes so i’m not stuck in North Hollywood at 7 o’clock at night. I send word files to my email adress for homework, and sending tons of pictures to my cousins.
I’m a strugling student so i can barely afford my phone bill for my baby, aka BJ II, let alone pay for Opera 9.5 browser…. or a car….

  • Matt D

When are you guys going to pick the winner??? I really need Opera 9.5 for an internet browser! I check back to this link just about ever 2 minutes to see if the winner has been posted. i can’t stand IE anymore. Please dont torture me anymore

  • Thom

I use one of several phones everyday, i check, emails, news, ebay, facebook, banking, and investing. I usually will use opera mini unless I need a secure connection. I’m been waiting the new Opera to come out and make my mobile experience a lot better. I hade the older verison But it was for a device I now longer use. I wish the license was for me and not the device, as I loved it. I just can’t see paying for the software (no matter how good) every time I upgrade my devices.

    Hello,

I use my HTC TyTN mostly to make calls, search the web for local information (nearby events, restaurants using VMN City News, weather), send SMS text messages and emails.

I think Opera is one of the best browsers out there especially thanks to its support of web standards. I can’t wait to test how fast it is! My only regret is that it isn’t free!

Good luck to everyone for the free license and thanks to intomobile.com.

  • Matt D

I need Opera 9.5 now because my school just sent me an email saying that many of our books will be readable online, the teachers are getting their own websites for classes and we’re going to have forums to discus classes on the website. I need it for my school baddly now, but i really don’t want to pay for it because I don’t have the money…

  • JD

I think it is written in the Bible somewhere, “Thou shall bestow upon JD the new Opera Browser.” I am trying to find the exact location, but I am pretty sure it is close to the front.

  • Andrew Tam

Hey…i hope i can win the license. I use my mobile to browse the internet all the time…sometimes more than my actual pc! i’m always on the go, especially since my commute is 2 hours long each day to work. I use my browser to catch up on all the latest stuff, especially from intomobile.com. I also use it to get adddresses and look up the latest restaurants at zagat when i’m out. I could definately use the opera mobile browser!

  • Mark Kim

I Wish I win~~ Please Pick me.. pick me pick me

  • Austin R

I’m enjoying Opera 9.5, Its great to be able to browse yahoo and get the full page instead of the mobile page. Banking on the go is also cool, being able to transfer money between my different accounts is convenient. Thank you Opera 9.5 and Intomobile.

  • Matt D.

I love Opera 9.5, its so much better than PIE.
I use it just about every two minutes to do anything that needs to be done on the internet.
There is one problem though, it doesn’t work with mobile myspace and the regular version doesn’t work either but that’s the only problem ive run into since i downloaded the trial about 2 weeks ago.
It’s become a valuable partner of mine and i dont know what i would do without it.
    Thanks Intomobile!
