Last year we saw Nokia (NYSE: NOK) releasing the N73 Ramadan Special Edition and people apparently dig the idea. Now the Finnish giant is going one step forward to extend its reach to Muslims who use other Nokia phones. Nokia RamadanThat being said, they’ve launched the Nokia Ramadan Microsite to release an entire collection of free software and Ramadan-related services that will be downloadable globally as well as pre-loaded on a bunch of handsets in the Middle East — including the new N78 – throughout August the N70 Music Edition, E51, 3120 Classic, 6500 Slide, 6300 and 2630 will become available with the Ramadan apps pre-loaded. Plus the apps are available to download onto eight other devices including the N95 and N82.

Some of the apps you’ll be able to download include:

Actually it makes sense for Nokia to release such service and applications for Muslims considering that the middle east is among the regions with extremely large numbers of Nokia owners. They are certainly huge Nokia fans.

  2. Ahmed says:

There are so many devices out there primarily focusing on the Islamic applications like Quran Readers, Islamic calenders, Hajj/Umrah guides etc. It’s about time convergence happens and we see similar apps on Mobile devices as well. For small investment in such services, Nokia can run away with huge market gain.

Cheers to Nokia Marketing and Happy Ramadan :-) ,
    Ahmed
