Nokia brings Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync to all S60 3rd edition devices

Nokia has finally made its Mail for Exchange available for all users with Symbian S60 3rd edition devices, Nseries included. As a result, about 80 million mobile phone users can connect to their email accounts on the Exchange Server.

Nokia owners whose companies use Exchange can set up Mail for Exchange for free on their devices in various ways without paying additional services or subscription fees – from the email set-up plug-in on the home screen, by launching the application from the Download! folder, or via the Settings Wizard. Once the application is set up, users utilize their current data plan service to get real-time access to their office email, calendar, contacts, tasks and company directory over a secure connection.

If you craved for the Exchange support on your Nokia smartphone, now you can have it. Simply start the Download! app and take it from there…

Feel free to riducule me for owning one of nokia’s bastard children, the N75, but they’re cheap (I do own other S60 devices as well). Some advice please as this gets progressively frustrating? Since the point is that its available for “ALL users with Symbian S60 3rd edition devices, Nseries included”, and the N75 is in the list on the press release, where do I get it for this phone? None of the options in the article are viable options for this phone. There is no e-mail setup plugin on the home screen, no Download! folder and no Settings Wizard. Does that make it all Devices -1?

As usual my 2 and a half year old Nokia’s learning to do things that my ‘cutting edge’ iPhone is going out of it’s way to stop me doing.
