Sony Ericsson recently announced their ‘not designed for production’ GreenHeart concept phone. The phone is focused on making a phone environmentally friendly throughout the life of the phone… Something we haven’t really seen before. Just think of all the old devices buried in dumps all over the world!!!

The GreenHeart features bio-plastic housings, recycled plastic keypads, a zero charger with 3.5mW standby power, digital manuals (instead of paper ones), and environmentally friendly packaging.

Sony Ericsson is taking the concept to partners and customers to develop the design to new levels… and to incorporate features to make this phone an all-around winner. As you can see from the image above, it doesn’t really blow you away with it’s beauty, but I’ve got to say… Not too shabby for a device that is made out of biodegradable and recycled materials.

Two thumbs up to Sony Ericsson on this one.
