Polish Telecoms regulator UKE launched a “beauty contest” for a frequency license, to contain exclusively Mobile TV and radio services based on DVB-H.
Apparently there is 8MHz of bandwidth, right across Poland, and the winner will be able to use the DVB-H license until 2015 in 31 Polish cities, then until 2023 all over the country! The potential contenders will have to provide a minimum of 10 radio and TV channels, and must submit by 15 Jan 2009.
So we can count Poland as another one of those countries that is going DVB-H – now if they would only sort things out in the UK…..!
