It has been expected for a few weeks now that Firefox Mobile would drop. Looks like we have to wait no longer, as Firefox Mobile has gone Alpha. It’s codenamed ‘Fennec’ (after the fox). Cool.

If you want to download it, you can get it here, but be forewarned… It only runs on the Nokia N810 tablet at the moment. As sad as that is, you can still play around with it on Windows, OS X or Linux.

You may also remember the screenshots of Firefox Mobile for Windows Mobile that I posted this past Sunday… So keep your eyes out for that release. It will no doubt be coming soon, and should provide a real taste of what ‘Fennec’ has to offer on a mobile device.
