Good ol CrackBerry Kevin published a great post this evening. He decided to sit down and speculate about what could be in the BlackBerry world in 2009. It’s an interesting read. When you consider it is coming from probably one of the most connected if not THE most connected guy on the BlackBerry scene… Makes you think that most of the speculation will come true.

Details and highlights of the speculation after the jump!

Speculated for 2009

Bold ‘Touch’ – Expect the Bold to get a refresh, with a touchscreen added on and perhaps an thinner, more streamlined design. Also look for beefed up internals. A better camera, more RAM and more.

Curve ‘Touch’ or Curve ’3G’ or a combination of the two – The biggest problem most folks have with the Curve 8900 is that it lacks 3G… and don’t be surprised if a touchscreen is thrown in there for good measure. RIM is embracing touch technology so anything is possible.

Storm ‘HD’ – With the HTC Touch HD and much speculation over the iPhone HD for the coming year, no doubt the Storm ‘HD’ would be a logical update for the Storm. Look for it to feature an HD display, and beefed up internals that will make any true addict foam at the mouth.

A New 3G Touchscreen – Vodafone/Verizon have locked up rights on the Storm (with the exception of them letting Bell and Telus in). With that in mind, look for RIM to get going on a new touchscreen for AT&T, Rogers, and other carriers to get their hands on.

A New Candy Bar Pearl – It would only make sense for the Pearl to get a revamp. While the Pearl Flip is great, it doesn’t offer the specs many were hoping to see. Look for the pearl to go for a bigger display, an improved trackball, slimmer styling and more power from within.
