The BlackBerry Partners Fund (BPF) is a $150 million venture capital fund formed with one goal in mind: to focus on applications and services for the BlackBerry and other mobile platforms. The fund announced yesterday that it has made investments in buzzd, Digby and WorldMate. Congrats to all involved… No doubt it is a huge feather in the caps of buzzd, Digby and WorldMate. They must be over the moon at this point.
John Albright, Co-Managing Partner of the BlackBerry Partners Fund noted:

buzzd is a location-sensitive city guide and social networking tool for mobile devices. They’ve raised $3.2 million in a Series A Preferred Stock financing with the BPF, Greycroft Partners, Monitor Ventures and Qualcomm Ventures.
Digby is a mobile commerce solution provider has raised $5.5 million Series B Preferred Stock with the BPF and existing shareholders.
WorldMate has some really killer apps that revolutionized mobile travel… they serve over one million frequent fliers and business travelers all around the world. They’ve raised $8 million in a Series C Preferred Stock financing with BPF, Motorola Ventures and AMC Communications.
