Gaming on the BlackBerry Storm: Nintaii Utilizes Accelerometer Controls!

Nintaii is quite a popular game that has come out for the BlackBerry in recent months. I’d played it before its release on the Berry… on my iPhone in fact! I believe it was developed by someone else, and the game was called something else too. But the general concept was the same.

The object of Nintaii is to navigate your block through the puzzle, depositing it upright in a hole at the end of the level. You do this by rolling, tilting and twisting the piece through the puzzle. Activate switches by landing on them, and watch out for the edge of the game board or the piece will fall off! The game features over 100 levels of mind-twisting goodness.

To my best recollection, in the iPhone version I played I could use the accelerometer to move the main game piece around the board. Now, thanks to the developers at MobiGloo, you can do the very same thing on the BlackBerry Storm! The video above steps you through the various versions of the game. From the more traditional trackball controls, through swiping controls on touchscreen devices, and finally, through accelerometer controls on the Storm. Cool.

I highly recommend the game as it’s challenging, and gets your brain working just a bit, which I enjoy. If you’re looking for a puzzle game that will give you hours and hours of gaming madness, you might want to give Nintaii a try.
