papa johns mobile site Papa Johns sees $1 million mobile pizza ordersAfter launching its mobile pizza-ordering service late last year, Papa John’s has reportedly already seen $1 million in mobile phone orders. With over $1 billion in pizza orders thus far, Papa John’s says that 20% of all orders are now coming in through SMS text message, widgets, or online.

Mobile orders are apparently mirroring phoned-in orders. In fact, online orders from iPhones have been coming in at such an enthusiastic pace that Papa John’s recently launched their iphone-optimized website. “As these devices are getting more powerful browsers, we’re able to take advantage and offer upgraded features and better designs,” said Richard Wise, vice president of operations at wiseOutlook, the company that developed Papa John’s mobile ordering service.

Papa John’s is planning to push their mobile offering with a mobile advertising initiative that involves printing SMS short-codes on pizza boxes and sending out mobile advertisements.

  1. That’s awesome. I actually ordered some pizza from a local pie-slinger a few weeks ago, using an online ordering process. It worked perfectly. Gotta love it when old-school type businesses embrace new technology.
